Welcoming a pet into your life is exciting, and our team at RSPCA North West London and South Hertfordshire is here to help. We’ll work with you to find an animal whose personality and needs suit your home and lifestyle, giving you both the best chance of a happy future together.

If you’re unsure which animal might suit you, our team will be happy to talk it through.
Pet insurance
We can offer four weeks’ free Petplan insurance for your newly adopted pet. If you’d like to take up this offer, our team will explain the cover and arrange it with your agreement.
We also recommend considering ongoing pet insurance to help with unexpected veterinary costs. Check the cover carefully so you understand what is included.

Our adoption process
1. Explore our animals looking for homes
Take a look at their profiles to learn about their personalities, favourite things and the kind of home they need.
2. Tell us about yourself
Found an animal you’d like to adopt? Follow the application instructions on their profile. Tell us about your home, lifestyle and what you’re looking for in a companion.
3. Have a chat with our team
We’ll discuss the animal’s needs, answer your questions and explain any checks needed before adoption. Our aim is to find a happy match for both you and your new pet.
4. Meet your potential companion
If the match looks suitable, we’ll arrange for you to meet and get to know each other.
5. Welcome your new pet home
We’ll guide you through the paperwork, explain the adoption fee and share practical care information to help you prepare for their arrival. If you’d like the four weeks’ free Petplan insurance, we’ll also confirm eligibility and arrange this with you.
Every adoption is individual, so the steps and timing may vary depending on the animal and your circumstances.
